Guru Rinpoche

Bardor Tulku Rinpoche and the current H.E. Garchen Rinpoche, have a close relationship, their monasteries are in the same region of Tibet and their previous incarnations have interacted over generations. This visit came about by the strong suggestion from Gar Rinpoche that we invite Bardor Tulku Rinpoche to White Lotus. He has been twice to Rochester, the most recent visit was in 2015 during the Vajrakilaya retreat with Garchen Rinpoche. But, this will be his first teaching visit.

“Samsara is just emptiness experienced by a mind that is in state of delusion. Nirvana is just emptiness experienced by a mind that is free of delusion.”

An Opportunity to Give!

From Khenpo Monlam:

From the Lord Buddha’s time according to his instructions, Buddhist monks go on retreat for three months each summer. At Kagyu College in Dehra Dun, about 100 monks are now in retreat for another 36 days.

It is meritorious for anyone to sponsor meals for the monks during this time. If you would like to sponsor a lunch for the 100 monks, the cost is $120 for one lunch for all the monks. Alternatively, people can come together to share in the cost of one or more lunches. How can you give?

1) Bring a check or cash to the Dharma Center and put it in the offering bowl.

2) Mail a check made out to White Lotus Buddhist Center to PO Box 10384, Rochester NY 14610.

3) Go on-line and make a donation via Pay-pal. Be sure to note that this is for Retreat Lunches for the monks of Kagyu College. http://www.whitelotusdharma.org/

4) Click on this Paypal button and follow the prompts. Thank you!
